Horse driven cart. Carries tradition of British people who were used to travel by these cars 150 years ago. People take a ride occasionally for fun. Howrah Bridge ( Rabindra Setu ), was the only bridge connecting Calcutta to the other side of the river for a long time until the Vidyasagar Bridge was built. Marvelous engineering architectural structure. Used to have tram lines, but removed to reduce traffic jams. Completed in 1941. Length main span : 450 meter, length of drop in span : 172 meter, height: 82 meter. Howrah Railway Station (old). One of the busiest station in the world. Thousands of commuters daily pass through this station. Now, north bound local trains and long distance trains depart/arrive here.
New South Eastern Railway building located adjacent to the old railway station. Mostly south and west bound local and long distance trains arrive and depart from here. Icecreamwala - Street hawker with ice cream near race course. Ice cream is a popular snacks in summer's sultry weather. Jawhar Lal Nehru Road, one of the busiest roads in the city. The building seen is Tata Center - one of first high rise structure in the city.
Local EMU trains run on electricity - major transport for suburbs extending up to 100 kms. From Bardhaman, Kharagpur, Krishnanagar, Barasat, Bongaon, Budge Budge, Diamond Harbor, Canning - millions of people commute every day to Calcutta by these trains. Calcutta Super Division Football (soccer) League match at Mohun Bagan ground. Once passion for Bengalis, this game is still pulls some football lovers. Millennium Park is the result of one of the endeavors for beautification of the city. The park is located on the bank of the river Hooghly near Fairly place (walkable distance from BBD Bag). Has entry fee and have fast food stalls inside. Gives a good view of the surroundings specially in the dusk.
